Knife box, veneered with mahogany, satinwood and sycamore. The sloping lid meets the convex front, decorated on the outside with an oval compartment containing a shell device, and on the inside with a similar compartment containing a rayed device. The internal fitting is pierced for 48 knives, forks and spoons. On the front of the lid is an oval metal plate for a small drop-handle.
