Mirror frame of carved pearwood. The oval back is carved with three Bacchanalian children, one playing a lute and another holding a cup; round the above is a border of scrolling leaves. The handle is decorated on both sides with similar designs of 'money' ornament and symmetrically arranged floral scrolls.

Object history
This mirror back was exhibited at the Worshipful Company of Carperters' exhibition in 1901. It was purchased by the V&A in the same year for £5 (RP 17387/1901).
