Place of origin

Willow panel, carved, painted and gilt. Period of Louis XVI. The panel, which is slightly convex, is carved in high relief with a vase in the centre decorated with leaves and surmounted by a floral device. On either side is a scrolling stem bearing acanthus leaves and terminating in a sunflower. Above are vine-stems and below festoons of beads. The decoration is gilt on a light green ground.

Physical description
