Embroidered tray panel and sampler and sketch. Tray with embroidered decoration and hand-embroidered sampler. A duck motif is drawn in a coloured chart and worked in two different ways. The round sampler shows a variety of stitches worked on white flannel, and the tray panel has a duck worked in fine stitches based on counted threads. The sketch and sampler are mounted on card measuring 17.25 inches x 12.5 inches.

Part of the Kessell experiment (1949) of embroidery interpretations carried out by teachers and students from colleges of art.
