Bed cover of linen, embroidered with coloured silks, and quilted with cream-coloured silk and white cotton. In the middle is a large symmetrical device composed of interlacing floral stems, and in each corner is a portion of a device of similar character. Round the edge is a broad border consisting of scrolling stems bearing various flowers and large leaves. The remaining space is filled with Chinese symbolic ornaments (two fans and two rhinoceros horns), and a row of flowering plants. The ground of the middle portion is quilted with a pattern of scrolling floral stems, and the border with a geometric design. The centre is cut out of a larger piece.
