Book mark of Jacquard woven silk in black, green, white, lilac and purple and with a yellow selvedge. The ribbon bears two black and white, head and shoulders, portraits of the Marquis of Lorne and Princess Louise decorated with snowdrops, thistles and roses. There is a design registry mark on the back which indicates that it was registered in 1871.
