Portrait of jockey Tom Cannon wearing Lord Rosebery's racing colours consisting of a jacket branded in rose and primrose hoops and rose coloured cap against a shaded white background. A facsimile of Cannon's signature is below on the right of the picture. On the front of the cream-coloured mount is 'Tom Cannon' and 'Woven in pure silk by T. Stevens, Coventry'. On the reverse of the mount is a trade label with a list of other Stevengraphs printed in 1887.
