Coat from court suit of purple, black and pale blue striped cut and uncut velvet, embroidered with coloured silks. The design is of floral sprays with a border of leaves and applied machine-net, with a meandering trail of chenille. The embroidery decorates the collar, cuffs, closing edges and coat tails. There are eight buttons on the front, three on each cuff, three on each pocket-flap, two back-waist, one on each coat-tail. The body and sleeve are lined with cream silk satin, the pocket-bags are of coarse linen.
