Inside the rope are bunches of cord and, at the top and bottom are two 'garters' with an inscription, enclosing the English crown. In the centre is the insignia of the Royal Yacht Squadron, a crown and anchor in a laurel wreath with a crown of ships and sails above the sailor supporters, holding the Union Jack and one of Ensigns, standing in front of the lion and the unicorn.
