Sample of figured silk dress fabric. The pattern shows broad, bright blue satin stripes bordered with cream, alternating with areas of black satin ground woven with a Japanese design. The design is Jacquard woven in red, blue and white on a black satin ground and shows large fan shapes filled with stylised flowers superimposed on a delicate floral trail. There is a selvedge at one side.
