Chair seat canvas, embroidered with wool and silk in shades of mustard, red, pink, green, blue, grey, beige, mauve, brown, cream, and yellow.
The border has a mustard-coloured ground and is decorated with large, brightly-coloured flowers; carnation, lily, convolvulus and peony.
The central embroidered scene of 'The Father and Jupiter' is taken from William Kent's illustration to the 39th of Gay's Fables. The initials 'E.W.' are embroidered on a plinth in the foreground of the scene.
