Object history
According to information recorded at the time this panel was acquired, the silk was from a range distributed by Robert Wynne, grandfather of the donor. Robert Wynne was manager of the firm Foster Porter & Co. Ltd, a drapery firm which had a large export warehouse in Wood Street, London, in the late 19th century.

This piece of silk is likely to be an 'end piece' or 'loom end', names for the last piece of a roll of fabric, which had no practical use and was printed with a brand or maker's name.
