Pair of women’s single sleeve ruffles of fine bleached muslin, shaped and scalloped on the lower edge. They are embroidered with linen thread in chain stitch and shadow work with drawn-thread work filling in a pattern of large flowers and leaves. There is a border of small drawn-thread work flowers against a drawn-thread work ground along the outer edges. The scallops are buttonhole-stitched. The straight edges of the ruffles are finely gathered and stitched to a ⅜-inch (8 mm) wide linen tape.
