Folding parasol with case. The parasol is of blue silk with a brass ferrule, hollow ribs and tips. There is a hinge adjustment at the top to tilt the shade, and a spring catch to keep it open. The ferrule-end is covered in blue silk. At the end of the handle is a screw thread to fix into the metal tube bound with narrow matching blue ribbon which forms both handle and case for the furled sunshade. This is bound at either end with a plaited matching braid. Stitched to the centre is a pale blue ribbon rosette with a blue silk carrying-cord attached to the centre.
The handle tip also forms a closure for the case when the parasol has been inserted. It is slightly expanded towards the top and formed of a netted blue silk cord mounted over blue silk.
