Moccasins for the Elite
The exquisite craftsmanship and beautiful decoration of these very fine chamois moccasins indicate that they may have been worn by an important Iroquois. The artistry in the design and fine quality of the embroidery in dyed moose hair and porcupine quill show a skilled embroiderer, who most likely only made footwear for the elite.
