Evening dress consisting of a bodice and skirt of brocaded black satin with sprays of white flowers and yellow and green details.

The bodice has a tight fitting low décolletage, and hooks down the centre back. Yellow silk lining. Voluminous black velvet puff-sleeves trimmed with black Chantilly lace. Etiquette woven into the belt inside, and reading 'Cie. Lyonnaise Mme. Mantel, Paris, Bd. des Capucines 37'.

Skirt with a straight front and bustle at the back with a fan-tail train. Two floating panels at the side front. Yellow satin panel in the front is over laid with three tiers of black Chantilly lace.
