Shade dye card for ladies dress goods. Folding shade card showing five sheets of woven patterned and plain dress fabrics. The samples are numbered from 1 to 80. Patterned fabrics (1 to 70) show two colour designs in silk stripes on a woollen crepe ground. Numbers 71 to 80 are plain silk fabrics in dark shades of brown, mauve, green, red, olive, navy, purple, turquoise and pink. Each page is entitled 'Farbenfabriken vorm. FRIEDR. BAYER & CO. ELBERFELD', and inside the front folding cover has been stamped 'Sole Representatives for Great Britain and Ireland. The Elberfeld Farbenfabriken Company Limited. / 20 Booth Street, Mosley Street, Manchester / 48 Vicar Lane, Bradford / 42 Bothwell Street, Glasgow / 19 St Dunstan's Hill, London'. The outside cover is of grey coloured cardboard and is titled 'Farbenfabriken vorm. Friedr. Bayer & Co, Elberfeld. Ladies Dress Goods, Dyed in two colors'.
