Shade card pattern book of dress fabric dyes. Bound with maroon-coloured linen binding and entitled 'Farbenfabriken vorm. Friedr. Bayer & Co, Elberfeld'. The title page is printed 'Nr 707, 1898' and a typed page listing dye recipes 'Färbe-Vorschift' is glued to the inside front cover. All of the 33 sample pages in the book show one different coloured example of the same fine silk fabric which is woven with a coloured warp stripe. Each page showing a sample is printed with the name of the manufacturer.
