Christening robe of cream silk satin, pleated at the front and back where it fastens with 3 pairs of silk ribbons, with 3 decorative bows at the centre back of the skirt. It has short, straight sleeves with a cuff. The wide fringe of cream silk was probably added later, over the front pleats, forming a triangle on the front, with a row around the hem. Tassels of knotted fringe decorate the front of the skirts.
The fine lawn bib trimmed with three rows of gathered bobbin lace edging, was probably added later, together with the cuffs of hollie point and bobbin lace.
