Man’s sword girdle and hangers of leather, covered with green silk satin and lined with green silk velvet. The girdle comprised two pieces held together with a buckle and hook. It is embroidered with full and partially wrapped silver-gilt filé in a design of clover leaves. It has two metal buckles with rings, and a hook at each end for fastening. The hangers are embroidered with green silk, silver-gilt filé, and coils of silver strip over leather shapes in a design of oak leaves and clover leaves. There are 9 scabbard straps (1 missing), each held with a metal buckle. The hangers are attached at the top with a metal hook. Girdle and hangers are edged with a 5/16-inch (7 mm) fringe of green silk and another of uncut loops of green silk and silver-gilt filé.
Originally there would have been a matching strap connecting the hanger to the girdle; this has not survived.
