This relief representing Adam and Eve with the serpent was probably made in the late 12th century France. This relief was found during excavations on the site of a 12th century Romanesque church in the forum at Arles.

Physical description | Relief in limestone, Adam and Eve. Eve stands on the left, holding the apple, Adam on the right. Between then is the serpent coiled round the tree. At top and bottom are raised borders, the lower one ornamented with a tendril and scroll-like leaves. |
