This medal depicting 'La Victoire' is made by Louis Patriarche in ca. 1919-20. Not much is known about this medallist. He was born in Corsica and studied with Barrias and Vernon, and Hippolyte Lefebvre, exhibiting regularly at the Paris Salon from 1901 and at the New York International Medallic Exhibition in 1910.
The olive branch in the left hand of Victory symbolises peace and the laurel branch in her right victory. The medal commemorates the Victory Parade held in Paris on France's National Day, 14 July 1919. It seems to have been taken from one of the many photographs taken fron the event.

Obverse: Full-faced portrait of a young woman with long hair who holds an olive branch in her left and a laurel branch in her right and symbolises Victory. Legend in relief.
Reverse: Arc de Triomphe, Paris, with cavalry and cheering crowds, bordered by oak leaves at left and laurel at right. The crowd applauds the military procession.
