This statuette of peasant boy is now thought to have been made in France. It was formerly thought to be from a model by Giovanni Bologna (Giambologna) (1529-1608), made in the early 17th century, in Florence.

Peasant boy with hat on, wearing a buttoned jerkin, deeper clogs with upturned toes, the right foot is turned half left. His left hand is in the trouser-pocket, while his right is inside the jerkin at breat height. On a square base.
