Adolphus Frederick, King of Sweden is shown in profile wearing a tie-wig, a fur-lined cape, a coat and cravat with the Stars of the three Orders hanging from the neck, another Star on his coat and a fifth attached to the sash of an Order passing over his left shoulder.
Adolphus Frederick was King of Sweden from 1751 to 1771. This ivory relief was made by Carl August Lücke the Younger in Germany in ca. 1751.
Carl August Lücke the Younger (1710-1777). He is likely to have been the son or nephew of Carl August Lücke the Elder, and the younger brother of Johann Christoph Ludwig Lücke. He was probably the brother of the sculptor Ernst Friedrich Lücke (active ca. 1700).
