This bronze medal representing Lord Kitchener and Britannis was made by J. P. Legasielois in France, in about 1918. This medal, exhibited at the Salon des Artistes français in 1920, commemorates the life and work of Horario Herbert Kitchener, First Earl of Kitchener (1850-1916) British soldier and statesman, who is remembered as a symbol of fighting spirit in the early part of the First World War.

Rev., figure of Britannia, armed with a sword and shield and shouting, stands on a rock next to the English standard. The edge has the incuse cornucopia of Paris Mint mark and BRONZE. |
