Place of origin |
This bust was at one time (like the companion bust A.70-1910), ascribed to the Master of the Marble Madonnas, and was produced in the same studio as two other busts in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (Blumenthal Collection) and in the former Von Feist collection, Berlin.
The two figures were clearly executed aas a pair. The diamond ring is the impresa of the Medici and thus suggest that these figures are a Medici commission.
