Place of origin |
In style and facture the statuette is directly related to bronzes by Severo da Ravenna. Its debased quality would seem to indicate a late and decadent phase of the workshop. the conical jam-thread at the bottom of the bronze is typical of bronzes from this workshop, and would have received a tapering bolt for attachment to a typical footed platform base, either triangular or circular.
