Group of biscuit porcelain; 'Offrande à l'Amour', reproduced by Samson from an old Sèvres group modelled by Boizot in 1776. Mark, double L with two dots above and below, S and a square, incised. Cupid stands on a triangular altar with incurved panelled sides, receiving offerings from two nymphs in classical drapery. One of them twines a garland of flowers about the altar. The other kneels and uplifts with outstretched arms a basket in which two doves are nestled. A little boy with a garland sits at the back of the altar; in front of it is a smoking vase of incense. Oval base.
