Jug and cover of soft-paste porcelain, painted in enamel colours and decorated with gilding, mounted with ormolu hinge. Reeded pear-shaped body, spreading foot, loop handle moulded with a garland of foliage, rim projecting in front to form a curved lip; the cover slightly domed, surmounted by a rosebud, and projecting in conformity with the lip. The edges are painted with a blue feather-border. On the body is the branch of a medlar-tree with birds perched or flying about it. Cover does not match body.
