Tea Service and Tray
Dated 1814

This service, with scenes from La Fontaine's Fables, was made in the last year of Napoleon's reign. When he was deposed and Louis XVIII became king, gilded silver plaques stamped with the royal arms were fixed over the imperial eagles on the tray borders. The service cost 2995 francs and was delivered to the king when he visited the factory in 1816.
