Panes, Nicholas. British Porcelain Sauceboats of the 18th Century. Nicholas Panes, 2009. Figure 58, 42p. 'An elaborate and large late Chelsea sauceboat, c 1760-65, part of a dinner service. With rococo scrolled feet and a 'flying' handle, with a slightly fluted body. Painted with exotic birds and flower sprays, and with a stand. Whilst Chelsea, Derby and Longton Hall made undertrays for some of their sauceboats, the practice does not seem to have been common.'
