Murray In the18th-century Inventory of Moulds, among the shapes listed in this inventory there is a “Young shepherdess with a sheaf of grain” which probably refers to this statuette (AGL, I, 2, f. 37, Fabbrica delle Porcellana di Doccia. Scritture e Documenti, fasc. 22 bis, p. 20). This is one of many such figures made towards the end of the 18th century and which were often inspired by similar subjects manufactured at Sèvres (BIANCALANA, 2011, p. 100- 127). A.B.
