Rare musical box with an automated conductor in the form of a seated Asian man wearing a turban, his arms and head move in time to the music. Played on a comb, drum, 6 bells and wood block by a 17 inch cylinder. The case has an inlaid front with marquetry decoration, and a sloping glass lid to display the inner workings. The drum is inscribed 'Bremond Manufacture Geneve Switzerland' and it has a key winding mechanism.

Bell and drum cylinder musical box, made by Bremond, in a case of rosewood with marquetry decoration and a casket-shaped lid with glass viewing panel. Geneva, Switzerland, ca. 1880s.
