Jacket
1975 (made)
Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
This jacket has been customised by the wearer in the punk style. Typical of punk's 'do-it-yourself' sartorial expression are the intentionally ripped surfaces and use of safety pins both as decoration and to hold seams together. Further, the wearer has added a detachable framed photo of herself to the garment. The roughly deconstructed pockets and ragged seams illustrate the deliberately extreme appearance of mid-1970s punks.
