Ewer of whitish earthenware, covered with a red slip and decorated with a female figure transfer-printed in black outline and with conventional ornament reserved on a ground painted black; details of the design are painted in white slip. Made in imitation of an ancient Greek oenochoe. On the front is a seated female figure in classical costume holding a mirror and a short staff; the remaining surface of the body is decorated with a palmette and scrolled devices left in reserve, and the neck is painted with white stripes.
