Place of origin |
These fifty birds are from a group of 4000 installed at the V&A in 2006, in Clare Twomey's installation 'Trophy'. Twomey made each bird using Wedgwood's famous blue Jasper clay. Visitors to the installation were invited to walk among the birds, with the tacit understanding that they would be permitted to take one away with them, this resulting in the gradual diminution of the work.
