Sigurd Persson (1914–2003) was a Swedish silversmith, sculptor, and professor, who is considered one of the most significant Swedish designers of the 20th century. Growing up in a goldsmith's family, Persson founded his own studio in Stockholm in 1942, and during his long career he designed objects in various materials such as silver, iron, brass, glass and plastic. Besides numerous households in Scandinavia and elsewhere, Persson’s designs can be found in the collections of many museums, including New York’s MoMA, the Musée des Arts Décoratif in Paris as well as the Victoria & Albert Museum.
