Border of needle lace worked in linen thread. Alençon lace with a mesh ground lightly decorated with narrow edging of leaf shapes forming compartments containing a larger mesh and bar fillings, and with small floral sprigs projecting upwards. The main part of the border is decorated with diagonal sprays of slender plants with small flowerheads and curling tendrils, and between them are small upright plants. The top edge appears to have been cut and is attached to a later heading.
