Border of flat needle lace worked mainly in buttonhole stitch but with some details in fine, looped mesh decorated with tiny raised roundels. Linked by buttonholed bars, decorated with roundels and in places worked double or with a secondary, finer mesh work to form decorative fillings.

Repeating pattern of upright sprigs and flower head roundels from which branching, flowery stems develop symmetrically on either side.

The upper edge is straight and has been attached to a bobbin made heading. The lower edge is slightly scalloped.
