Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Circular button of enamel and metal. Domed on the obverse side. The design consists of a daisy on a blue ground. The petals are silvery white with three embossed lines on each petal, the centre is painted in yellow ochre, and the whole is covered in a transparent enamel which has fractured. It is set into a flat metal cup with a gold finish on the back, of which is soldered a shank for sewing purposes. It is possible that the daisy is cut out of silver foil paper using the matt side. The finely speckled blue ground may be painted plaster of Paris. Reference number 850MT Col. 201.
