Object history | Registered File number 1990/2126. One of 15 small samples T.421: 1 to 15-1990. The justification for acquisition states: This interesting collection of small samples of high quality woven furnishings are important becase they can be dated precisely to 1939, a period in which there was not a great deal of activity in the British market. Part of the collection (the gift also included T.222-1990 group) are from Heal & Son and have tickets attached with prices. Other samples are of a similar quality but not all are identified. In a letter dated 1990, Ms Carruthes, the donor, states that the samples were 'recently given to me by a neighbour for patchwork but I cannot make use of them.' |
