Tile in the shape of an eight-pointed star (with 2 points missing), fritware. The central field is decorated in golden-brown lustre with a tree of three branches, each capped by a fleshy palmette. The tree grows from a small pool at the bottom of the tile, in which a single fish is swimming. The background consists of palmette scrolls, and around the edge is a border inscription in cursive script, in lustre on a white ground. Made in Iran (Kashan), early 14th century.
