Tile in the shape of an eight-pointed star (with 1 point missing and another point half-missing), fritware. The central field is decorated with a palmette scroll on a vertical axis, which is painted in golden-brown lustre and outlined in cobalt blue with dabs of turquoise. Around the edge is a border inscription in cursive script, in lustre on a white ground. Made in Iran (Kashan), early 14th century.
