Plate of stoneware transfer-printed in black and over-painted with enamels. Circular with eight lobes and low recessed foot rim. Printed in black outline with a group of Chinese figures. A man is seated at the table and three ladies, one with a child, are all in a rectangular scroll. The rim is decorated with two groups of Buddhist emblems reserved in panels on a border of scroll-diaper enriched with flowers and leaves, in imitation of Chinese famille rose.
