Object history
The name of Tournai decorator, Fidelle Duvivier, has recently been linked to this and the three other 'Grubbe plates' by J.G.V. Mallet (see below). They were formerly given to the London decorator James Giles, although Mallet suggests that Duvivier may have been employed in the Giles workshop.
