Bowl of hard-paste porcelain painted in underglaze blue and enamels and gilded. Shallow with an openwork border composed of intersecting circles and a low foot ring. Decorated with a spray of peony half encircling the inside and with a phoenix perched on it. A second phoenix hovers in the air. On the back is a continuous border of scrolling stems with leaves.
