The dish is decorated with a large landscape in the centre and three smaller ones on the brim; this was one of the most popular decorations used at Doccia. The motif of the landscape is found on different types of Ginori porcelain starting in themid-18th century (cat. 74) until late in the 19th century
(cat. 75). A variation is represented by the presence of figures in the landscape; see, for example cat. 98-102. The shape of the plate and the chiaro-scuro style of the painting suggest a date for this plate of about 1775-1785.
