Dieter Schaich (Munich) saw this piece on 8/9/2003 during the AIHV conference in London and believes this to be made in Germany in the early 17th century. This was previously loosely attributed to France or Spain, but it was acquired in Lucerne, wich makes more sense for a German glass aswell.
Mr Schaich returned on 5th December 2012 and now thinks this must be Swiss or possibly Southern German. A few similar pieces he knows of, all emerged in Switzerland.
