Furnishing fabric of printed cotton. The design is based on classical descriptions of the Roman toga with two broad vertical bands of broad and narrow stripes at the borders and incorporating stylised laurel leaf and fret pattern. The innermost border has single leaf motifs. Printed in black and rust brown on a natural ground. Sewn on the top are two small samples in different colourways: Mushroom and brown (6.5 inches x 4 inches) and yellow and grey (9.5 inches x 4 inches). The manufacturer's label with trademark and description is attached to the top right corner.
