Length of furnishing fabric of printed cotton. On a cream ground, the repeating pattern (36.5 inches drop) incorporates palm trees, silhouettes of birds in flight, balustrades, dotted and striped areas and lattices carried out in clear 'Mediterranean colours - green, yellow, ochre, pink, black and bright 'Matisse' blue. The pattern is drawn in a free painterly manner and is reminiscent of the Matisse style.
